Sneakers - Women's Collection

With the new millennium, thanks to globalization, new fashions spread in the world of footwear that overturn previous history and take on connotations never seen before. The most important transformation in the interpretation of consumer tastes occurs with respect to the phenomenon of the sneaker which from a sneaker becomes the most sought-after accessory, considered among the coolest of our era.

This change affects all generations.

The first sneakers were born around 1850 with the first rubber sole, today it is no longer considered a simple gym shoe used for sports or a simple walk, it is considered a real fashion accessory to be worn even with elegant, sophisticated and even work clothes.

This success is due to the fact that sport has become part of the daily lifestyle of all individuals. The increasingly strong customization of sneakers with different colors and components has also contributed to this evolution.

It is in recent years that the sneaker is no longer seen as a sports shoe but has assumed a very important status thanks also to the push given by the luxury sector as the most prestigious brands have begun to include it in their collections.

Sneakers - A Long History

Sneakers have become a fundamental part of popular culture and contemporary fashion. But how did the history of sneakers begin?

Sneakers, or gym shoes, were first created in the late 19th century. They were originally designed to be used during physical activities such as running and climbing.

Their main feature was the rubber sole that provided more grip and cushioning than traditional shoes. During the 1920s sneakers began to be mass produced thanks to the technology of rubber vulcanization.

This process allowed for the creation of more resistant and durable rubber soles, which made sneakers an increasingly popular product among athletes and young people. In the 1950s, sneakers were introduced into popular culture through their presence in Hollywood films and rock music.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, they became a symbol of hip-hop and street culture. In the 1990s, they reached their peak of popularity thanks to the sportswear and fitness culture with brands such as New Balance that began producing sneakers specific to different sports and physical activities. Sneaker culture expanded further in the 2000s.

Today sneakers have become a style element in every wardrobe, worn not only during physical activity but also in more formal and casual situations.

Many celebrities, artists and top athletes have collaborated with sneaker brands to create custom models, further increasing their cultural appeal.

Curiosities about sneakers

Sneakers have a special charm and there are several interesting curiosities related to these shoes.

For example, the name "sneakers" (which in English means "that move stealthily") comes from the fact that these shoes are very silent and therefore ideal for moving without being noticed.

The first sneakers were designed by the same inventor of classic gym shoes who added a special rubber to the sole that improved grip on the ground.

In the 1970s, sneakers became a symbol of youth culture and the hip hop movement, and many famous rappers began wearing them.
